I would like to share some of my favorite craft books. I have a few nuigurumi Japanese craft books, which I love they have a retro style, they are beautiful. There are a lot of plush cuties waiting to be born. The book with little girl on cover is filled with Alice in Wonderland themed projects and little girls clothes, super cute.
The next bunch of books were originally published in Japanese then translated English.
I am in desperate need to update my blog. Here are a few things I have done, new sock dolls, new rag dolls, joined the new plush works team on etsy. The Plush works team has been fun so far, its nice to be among like minded people into what your into. Never mind the fact that they are all very talented. http://www.flickr.com/groups/plushtoydesigners/ This is a link to a photo stream, of the etsy plush works team.

Hello everyone:) I have a new treasury on etsy. John Lennon inspired :)
My new kawaii obsession, Kewpie dolls, I think its because they look like my daughter. I ordered a bunch on etsy. The first set came in the mail from earthgatherings http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=65279 . Too cute, I am going to make little outfits for them. They are about 4 inches tall. Love them. I wanted to make the Little outfits then sell them, but I like them too much. We will see.
I made more kawaii baby snow owls, there seemed to be a lot of interest in them, and besides that they are fun to make. Especially their little hats. The top hats are the cutest.
I started by making their hats before I even made the owls. I enjoyed working in miniature.
The hats took a while to make, I looked at a couple of Japanese craft books for reference, then invented my own take on them. They are made of felt, and cotton cloth.
I am so excited I made my first sale on etsy, funny thing is I just posted the item last night.
I did not even get to post her here yet.
Well here she is my kawaii sleepy snow owlet. She is made from a super soft fleece, her features are all hand embroidered, and her bow is made of red felt and also hand embroidered with the blanket stitch. The idea for her came to me while I was trying to sleep. there are just so many owls out there right now I wanted a different look. So I hope I achieved that.
She was really fun to make and I will be making more.
This little kawaii Japanese Panda was made by me for my little sister, she said she wanted it to be "more happy". So I made sure that I gave him more of a smile. And she did not like the way I wanted to make the feet, so I made them different, tough customer. His basic pattern was from a Japanese craft book. I just realized it's not the same when its not completely my creation but It was still fun. And he still came out pretty cute, just a little too jolly. :)
This fella was a lot of work he is completely hand stitched, and took me a lot longer than expected. I made him from wool felt which I never worked with before. I think he came out really cute. I will be using this method again but on a smaller scale, I like the retro, vintage style look of it.
I am working on many new projects this week, a really cute wool felt wiener dog with a black top hat (Japanesekawaii from Japanese craft book Tabatha Naomi). I pretty retro apron with red and white polka dotted fabric. More guinea pigs out of corduroy, fun to make. Also really cute. And a new tote bag made from a retro style owl printed corduroy. I am all over the place this week. I have been also asked to participate in a craft fair labor day weekend, which I have decided to do. So that puts a lot of work on my plate for the next month. Hopefully wiener pup will be done tonight and posted tomorrow. So I am busy, but it is a good busy. :)

Here is my first white plushiehuggy bear. Hope she is kawaii enough. I used a white cotton fleece, he is pretty big. I like his pink cheeks.
The pink plushie bear just needs to be photographed.
I like them, they both look a little irked, hey its tough being cute. I love the balance of anger vs adorable. Like my daughter when she is having a terrible 2 fit.
I made this quilted purse for my moms birthday. I hope to make many more it was really fun, finding the color combinations, putting them together, much like a puzzle. I love the browns and blues together, and the cute bird fabric.
Tomorrow I will be posting my very kawaii (cute) huggy bears. Also very fun to make I used the softest fabrics I could find, extremelyhuggable.

Finally finished my vintage style plushie bunny, she gave me a really hard time, but I do like the way she came out. I am gonna take a little vintage break and maybe try some straight up, kawaii teddy bears. Maybe with my white fleece fabric and plushie pink fabric we will see. I hope I can pop a couple out tonight. Thats what I thought about my vintage plushies, but they were much more involved than I thought. Thank you to the new people who joined my blog.
